I
am Melvin (Skip) Chambers, retired forklift salesman and 40+ year
woodworking aficionado. In 1955, following a particularly riveting
Colorado history lesson on the cattle industry (and importance of
branding cows), my friend Don and I walked across the street to the
County Court House from the high school in Eagle and I registered my
brand - the LAZY MC. The Lazy MC brand has never been on a cow, but I
proudly burn it (inconspicuously) into the uniquely custom designed,
southwestern style, handcrafted accent furniture that is the heart of
Lazy MC Enterprises (I also do a bit of Forklift Sales Management
Consulting). I only use Pine and look for lots of knots and grain
variations when selecting the "contractor cast-off" 2 by 4's that I
resaw, plane and glue-up to make my lumber. I use various natural
colored finishes and transparent stains (blue, turquoise, green, tan,
red) - I will not paint a piece. If you want a special piece of
furniture and would like to discuss it (talk is cheap and I don't
charge a dime for it), give me a call or send me an e-mail. |
